Schmidt Hammer Lassen Architects won the competition for the New Shanghai Library in 2016, the project is scheduled to be completed in 2020. The main volume of the library floats above two pavilions that will house a 1200-seat performance venue, exhibition and events space, and a dedicated children's library. Drees & Sommer engineers supported the architects to design and plan the building envelope during Schematic Design Phase, setting the preconditions for a successful project course.
