Expert Talk: Future-proof Educational & Research Buildings

Real estate has a crucial role in reducing CO2 emissions. Therefore, sustainability is increasingly important in the realization and refurbishment of any real estate and has a significant impact on the development and construction of also educational and research buildings, both ecologically and economically and socio-culturally.

Research, study, teaching, transfer, and other performance areas of educational environments are currently characterized by a high level of dynamism, creating a demand for space, rooms, and equipment that existing buildings often cannot provide.

To address these challenges, sufficiency strategies can be used to optimize space utilization, circular construction and life-cycle considerations can reduce resource consumption, and inclusion can make higher education accessible to everyone.

On Thursday afternoon, October 5, we will organize our international Expert Talk 'Future-proof Educational & Research Buildings' at the fieldlab of The Green Village of TU Delft in The Netherlands. This event will be held in English.

We invite you to an inspiring keynote speech by Hubert Linssen (TU Delft) followed by thematic impulse speeches, pitches and panel discussions with experts on the topics sustainable construction, innovation in the green building and campus development. Speakers include  Jaap-Willem Kleijwegt (UNStudio), Jeroen Broersma(Madaster), Hein van Tuijl (EPEA Benelux), Richard Murray (AA Projects), Marzia Traverso (University of Aachen), Jacqueline Lemm (TFI Aachen) and Kristina Knauf (LANDsrl).
