A fusion of high-tech expertise and innovation: SEMICON Europa

Market leaders and high-tech experts from the semiconductor industry met at SEMICON Europa in Munich from November 14 to 17.

After reviewing our enriching journey at SEMICON Europe, we are pleased to share the insights we gathered together with our valued CRC HI-TEC ENGINEERING, Industry Consulting Strobl and UNIT4 GmbH & Co. KG:

Collaboration is crucial: Our main conclusion is that collaboration is crucial. The semiconductor industry supply chain is a complex global network that cannot be maintained by any one country alone. We have observed a shift towards 'friendshoring', relying on trusted partners and forging new partnerships. This approach not only solves supply chain disruptions but also drives improved efficiency and innovation.

Leading the Way in Fab Expansion & Workforce: As the leading engineering team for FAB projects, we recognise the importance of bringing manufacturing closer to where the business is located. This includes expanding existing facilities and developing a sustainable workforce to address the global skills shortage and strengthen our market position.

A positive outlook: Despite the challenges, the semiconductor industry is poised for significant growth and innovation. Demand for semiconductors is expected to increase significantly, driven by emerging markets and advances in AI, 5G and IoT. Our role is to help our customers position themselves at the forefront of this growth.

Successful presence: Our stand at SEMICON Europa was a meeting point for intensive activities - from inspiring discussions with key customers and business partners to the initiation of new contacts.

In conclusion, SEMICON Europa was a valuable platform for us to showcase our commitment, collaboration and excellence in factory design and construction together with our partners.

Stay tuned for more updates and insights from us. The journey continues and we have only just begun. We look forward to returning to SEMICON in 2024.
