The Court of Justice of the European Union has extended its building stock for the fifth time, to accommodate translators and other functions in a third tower.

The project for the new building, which is directly connected to the existing building, includes offices, a restaurant, a cafeteria, a fitness center, a data center and different levels for meeting and training rooms. The connection to the existing building is achieved by extending the gallery, which links the existing buildings.

In collaboration with Socotec, Drees & Sommer supported the operator in the planning, implementation and validation of the project.

The European Court of Justice is one of our Top Projects — a category reserved for work we are especially proud of. These projects have not only delivered exceptional value for our clients, but have also shaped us as a company.

Why the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg deserves a place among our Top Projects:

  • Tallest building in Luxembourg: The Rocca is 118 meters high and has 29 floors. This makes it the highest building in Luxembourg.
  • Impressive Esthetics: The site’s new tower was built under the auspices of the Luxembourg Administration des Bâtiments Publics and was based on a design by French architect Dominique Perrault.
  • Close on-site support: The Drees & Sommer office in Luxembourg provided local support for the project participants. This simplified coordination and made it possible to respond quickly to any questions that arose.
