Jakarta Smart City

The "Smart City Jakarta" is a collaborative research project on innovative solutions for sustainability in growing cities, Berlin and Jakarta. The project aims to combine technical expertise with civic engagement to create a sustainable, smart and inclusive city in Jakarta. As part of the project, Drees & Sommer set up an exchange platform to bring together experts, citizens and city administrations from both cities. As a result, policy recommendations were developed, data-driven decision-making was enhanced and a collaborative platform was established. The Smart City Jakarta initiative thus paves the way for a transformative journey towards a successful smart city and establishes a continuous exchange that will be essential for the long-term implementation of the Smart City in Jakarta.
