Tilia Tower, Prilly - New build and refurbishment

Client

Insula SA, Lausanne

Architects

3XN/GXN Architects, Kopenhagen und Itten+Brechbühl AG, Lausanne

Project duration

March 2021 – December 2022

In Prilly, west of Lausanne, the 85 metre high Tilia Tower© will be built over the next few years. The plans envisage a timber-concrete composite construction. The project is being realised by Insula AG as the client.

The project is focussing on sustainability, which is why MINERGIE-P-ECO and 2000-watt certification is planned for the building. The sustainable approach is also reflected in the social aspect - ten per cent of the 221 flats will be available at affordable rents.

The new mixed-use tower consists of flats, a hotel and retail space. In addition to the construction of the Tilia Tower©, two other existing neighbouring buildings on the site are also being redesigned and renovated, including the building that will continue to house a badminton centre.
