Vocational school for photography, optics, and hearing acoustics
State Tirol
Hall in Tirol
Due to the steadily increasing number of students at the Tyrolean Vocational School for Photography, Optics, and Hearing Acoustics, the school operator is aiming to expand the available space and to adapt currently inadequate rooms to meet usage and regulatory requirements.
Approximately two-thirds of the 160 students live in the school’s affiliated dormitory during their training period. Since 2012, the school administration has been forced to use two containers on Kaiser-Max-Strasse as permanent classrooms.
Additionally, due to a lack of space, parking spaces on the premises of the emergency services in Hall have been rented out.
In summary, the currently available spatial resources are barely sufficient to meet the demands of daily school operations.
- To achieve an open and flexible layout on the ground floor, the ceiling above it is suspended from shear walls and the parapet on the first upper floor. The upper floors largely follow this structural system.
- In the existing structure, several load-bearing walls will be removed. The loads from the floors above will be supported using steel columns and/or steel frames.
