Vienna West Station serves as the starting and ending point of the Westbahn and is located on the renowned Mariahilferstraße as well as the Wiener Gürtel. The station alone sees a daily passenger frequency of 43,000 due to rail traffic.

Since November 2011, following more than three years of renovation work, the Westbahnhof has been shining once again in a modern, contemporary, and innovative architectural design.

The objective was to comprehensively document all services, tasks, operations, and processes required for managing the entire Vienna Westbahnhof area in a timely manner through an operations manual. This included defining the organizational interfaces between tenants, users, and ÖBB's internal operator.
