Cities are places for interpersonal relationships. Therefore, it is important to create places for these relationships that make them possible. For this to succeed, it is important to consider different user needs and requirements when developing a new city district. In a lively neighbourhood we can be at home, we can work, there are enough opportunities for leisure and culture, we can welcome guests and there are shopping facilities for daily needs. Successful neighbourhood developments show that the mix creates a real local society and identity.
Care must be taken to ensure that both in planning and in later implementation, the issues of climate neutrality, digital services and mobility transformation are aligned with social and political goals from the outset. Climate change, for example, shows that there is no way forward in the future without a sustainably oriented economy.
