As the world's largest Cradle to Cradle platform, the C2C Congress once again brought together stakeholders from business, science, politics and society on January 31 and February 1, 2020. Experts from EPEA GmbH – Part of Drees & Sommer took part in various panels and interactive forums.

From healthy textiles to sustainable packaging through C2C innovations in construction: once again this year, the C2C Congress covered a wide range of topics. The focus was on the Cradle to Cradle design concept (C2C), which represents potentially infinite circulation of materials and nutrients within cycles.

In special tracks and interactive forums, participants were able to explore topics such as agriculture, food, the printing industry and packaging in greater depth and learn about the opportunities that C2C offers in these areas. There were also plenty of best practice examples. Whether recyclable nightwear from Lidl, sustainable packaging from Frosta or Cradle to Cradle-inspired buildings such as the fire station in Straubenhardt, Germany: the projects that were presented demonstrated that C2C is no longer a niche topic, but is already being used successfully in many areas. The C2C experts from EPEA GmbH were actively represented in various panels and interactive forums and shared their C2C experience and expertise with participants.

Peter Mösle, Managing Director at EPEA GmbH – Part of Drees & Sommer, is confident: ‘As a forward-looking approach, Cradle to Cradle offers a tangible solution to the problems of resource wastage and environmental pollution. For this reason, we welcome events such as the C2C Congress, which makes an enormous contribution to the widespread promotion of the Cradle to Cradle principle and the networking of all those involved. For us, C2C is not only the path to recyclable buildings and products, but the key to a livable and sustainable future.’

The C2C Congress is organized by the Cradle to Cradle NGO on a regular basis. The non-profit organization now brings together more than 700 active members and presents the idea of Cradle to Cradle to the general public.
