The nationally important Chassé Barracks in Breda has undergone a transformation: the building, once home to 2,000 military personnel, has now been converted into a complex with a wide variety of functions. Chassé Botanique comprises 63 rental apartments, 19 hotel rooms, 450 m2 of hospitality space, 1,200 m2 in office space that houses the city archive and a cinema. Eyecatcheris the botanical courtyard garden with a glass roof; the common meeting space that connects the buildings and the various functions and also links Keizerstraat and the Chassé Park. This “greenhouse” acts as a green public space and entrance.

Based on the specifications and Synchroon's plan, Drees & Sommer Netherlands QX assisted with the purchase of the property complex. The technical due diligence (TDD) gave a clear picture of the project’s technical status and potential risks. During realization, Drees & Sommer then handled construction monitoring on behalf of QX: consistently checking whether the parties involved were in compliance with, in particular, the agreements on quality, budget, and planning.
