Climate Risk and Vulnerability Assessment (CRVA)
Identify climate risks. Protect asset value. Strengthen resilience.
Heatwaves, heavy rainfall, flooding, and periods of drought are changing the requirements for real estate assets. Identifying risks early helps protect asset value, reduce follow-up costs, and create a solid foundation for investment decisions.
With Drees & Sommer’s Climate Risk and Vulnerability Assessment (CRVA), you can systematically evaluate location- and asset-specific climate risks based on reliable data. The assessment reveals the extent to which a property may be affected by future climate developments and identifies measures to enhance its resilience.
What is a Climate Risk and Vulnerability Assessment?
A Climate Risk and Vulnerability Assessment examines the impacts of climate change on real estate assets and portfolios. It combines high-resolution climate data with recognized climate models to assess relevant hazards affecting a specific location and building.
Our analysis includes, among others:
- Heat and rising temperatures
- Heavy rainfall and surface flooding
- River and coastal flooding
- Drought and water stress
- Storm events
- Additional location-specific climate impacts
In addition, we assess the vulnerability of a property. This means evaluating how susceptible a building is to identified climate risks and determining which adaptation measures can strengthen its resilience.
