The logistics site is Germany’s first fulfillment center (distribution center) built on the basis of the C2C approach. It comprises 70,000 square meters.
In addition to the circular construction method, the site is characterized by a material database, among other things. This is helpful for efficient recycling, the exclusive use of healthy materials, sustainable energy and resource management, and, in principle, a design that is oriented towards people. In addition, green roofs, roof gardens, photovoltaics, and modern water treatment contribute to making the property a “positive footprint warehouse.”
The new construction of the logistics site is not only a pioneering project in terms of sustainability, but it is also driving structural change in the region by revitalizing an old mining site.
