Sustainability has long since ceased to be just a question of energy consumption. The use of resources and the way we treat nature are equally important! Our new office building shows how this can be done. We deployed the Cradle to Cradle® (C2C) design principle and tested all building materials used, thus taking a decisive step forward in the area of sustainability during the construction of the building, Oberen Waldplätze 12 (OWP12). We took immense care of factors such as materials’ freedom from harmful substances and ease of dismantling during the planning and realization of the project. In addition to C2C, we documented precise information about the building materials used to ensure that they can be recycled to a high quality when the building is demolished at a later date. OWP12 has a green façade of around 100 square meters. This creates a pleasant microclimate and actively contributes to biodiversity conservation.
