The The Clinic Real Estate of the Next Generation congress was held in Salzburg on July 7, 2020. It was once again an event with on-site attendance, in compliance with hygiene regulations. Jürgen Zimmermann, Senior Team Leader and healthcare expert at Drees & Sommer, opened the specialist conference as co-organizer at Imlauer Hotel Pitter, before about 40 participants.
Architect Albert Wimmer began the series of lectures with the topic healing architecture 4.0/healthcare districts. The focus was on the quality of a visit to a clinic and on patients' increased requirements with regard to hospitalization. Another focus was the integration of healthcare real estate in the urban district. He highlighted his lecture with projects realized by his firm, which has been implementing the latest trends in society as built architecture for many years.
Other lectures dealt with hospital planning in virtual space, surgery planning using artificial intelligence, and the topic of building information modeling (BIM) from the viewpoint of the general project manager. In the plenary meeting held in the afternoon, Harald Schäfer, Head of Project Management for the new Flugfeldklinik hospital building, explained the current status of Germany's largest new hospital building currently under construction using BIM.
