The auditorium consists of three concert halls with 2,700, 1,200, and 700 seats, an open-air arena, a museum for musical instruments, a library, restaurants, offices, and service facilities. Renzo Piano designed the modern architecture by combining it with typical Roman building materials such as travertine, terracotta tiles, and curved lead roofing. It is located in the Parioli district on Via Flaminia.
The Parco della Musica Auditorium is one of our Top Projects — a category reserved for work we are especially proud of. These projects have not only delivered exceptional value for our clients, but have also shaped us as a company.
Why the auditorium in Rome deserves a place among our Top Projects:
- Star architect: The design is the work of renowned architect Renzo Piano.
- Modernity meets tradition: While characterized by clean lines and extensive concrete surfaces, the design also incorporates quintessential Roman materials such as travertine, terracotta tiles, and curved lead roofing, creating a compelling dialogue between past and present.
- Back on track: The Drees & Sommer team successfully revived the previously stalled construction process, guiding the project to completion and ensuring the opening date was achieved.
