Based in part on the technical and environmental assessment carried out by Drees & Sommer, Aviva Investors Real Estate France, a subsidiary of Abeille Assurances (formerly Aviva France) acquired a high-quality logistics property in the Ecofactorij business park in Apeldoorn. Aviva Investors Real Estate France will lease the distribution center – with a total leasable floor area of around 26,600 m2 – on a long-term basis under a sale and leaseback agreement, to a wholesaler specializing in heating, sanitation, and spare parts.

The Ecofactorij business park promotes sustainable development. All businesses established in the park are committed to making an extra effort in the field of sustainability. Located at Ecofactorij 51, the building is in excellent technical and environmental condition and has been awarded a BREEAM Excellent environmental certificate.

During the process of deciding to purchase the distribution center, Aviva Investors Real Estate France Investors asked Drees & Sommer to perform a technical assessment of the building. The technical due diligence (TDD) provided the client with clear insight into the current technical and environmental condition of the property. From an environmental point of view, the property was examined for both risks and opportunities. All findings, as well as a set of recommended actions and suggestions, were compiled in a report. The ESG due diligence consisted of an ESG assessment, an energy assessment, and a BREEAM in-use pre-assessment. Drees & Sommer concluded that the building at Ecofactorij 51 in Apeldoorn would be a valuable addition to Aviva Investors Real Estate France's portfolio.
