The urban development objective of the "Porte de Hollerich" area development is the creation of an inner-city residential quarter with high ecological standards and innovative approaches. With the abandonment of the use of the gasometer and, in perspective, the bus depot, the City of Luxembourg will have a substantial area of property at its disposal, which will make a sustainable development of the site possible. After various private owners and the state have signalled their willingness to participate and the basic planning framework has been clarified, the concrete implementation could begin. The planning area covers an area of about 40 ha.
