Enlargement of the European Court of Justice, Luxembourg
Cour de justice de l'Union Européenne
Dominique Perrault
January 2013 - July 2019
56.500 square meters
212.000 cubic meters
The European Court of Justice has completed a fifth extension to its building portfolio to accommodate translators and other officials in a third tower. The new Rocca tower, which is directly connected to the existing building, includes office space, a restaurant, a cafeteria, a fitness center, a data center, and various levels for meeting rooms and training.
The link to the existing building was created by extending the gallery that connects the current buildings. Drees & Sommer worked with Socotec to support the future operator in project planning and execution as well as during acceptance.
A special feature of the project is that the Rocca is the tallest building in Luxembourg at 118 meters and 29 floors high.
The European Court of Justice is one of our Wall of Fame projects. These are projects that we are particularly proud of. They have not only helped our respective clients, but also us as a company.
Why the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg deserves a place on our Wall of Fame:
- Tallest building in Luxembourg: The Rocca is 118 meters high and has 29 floors. This makes it the highest building in Luxembourg
- Impressive Esthetics: The site’s new tower was built under the auspices of the Luxembourg Administration des Bâtiments Publics and was based on a design by French architect Dominique Perrault
- Close on-site support: The Drees & Sommer office in Luxembourg provided local support for the project participants. This simplified coordination and made it possible to respond quickly to any questions that arose
