Project duration

03/2021 – 12/2026

The Leipzig Transit Authority (LVB) maintains a Technical Center in Leipzig-Heiterblick district for repair, maintenance and storage of trams. The Technical Center has been upgraded in stages since 2003. Stage II.2 involves the construction of a new workshop and storage shed. The stage is subdivided into five modules. Drees & Sommer is undertaking planning validation and planning of project support services for multiple modules.

The services relate to the planning phase: Service Phase 3 Draft planning and Service Phase 4 Application for planning approval.

Following successful completion of planning validation and planning-related project support services, the experts took over the project management: Here, the Smart Infrastructure team was able to win the EU-wide tender process for the extensive project management and project lead services from Service Phase 5 onwards.

The construction volume for Module 2 is approx. EUR 58 million and is expected to be completed with commissioning taking place in Q1 2026.
