By 2015, US forces in Mannheim will hand back six barracks. Drees & Sommer development consultants are formulating a conversion strategy for the vacated sites, which have a total area of some 500 hectares. They are also supporting the local authority with the definition of basic design data and purchase processes.

Among these barrack facilities are for example the Hammonds Barracks, the Taylor Barracks, the Spinelli Barracks, the Funari Barracks, Benjamin Franklin Village and Sullivan Barracks.
