The Joan is being built in Amsterdam at the Amstel junction (A2 and A10): it is a highly sustainable (BREEAM excellent), multifunctional, flexible, and inspiring multi-tenant office building for accommodating creative, innovative businesses and offices and also has an accompanying car park. The Joan I features flexible office and creative business space, generous workshops, event space, and a restaurant — all distributed over eight floors. On the ground floor, there is a restaurant open to the public. The Joan II is a three-level, green multi-storey car park with 246 parking spaces for The Joan I in addition to 130 spaces for the adjoining Bouwmaat XL and a bicycle park.

The company “Being” was the developer of The Joan. Drees & Sommer Nederland (formerly BOAG) has been involved in the cost estimates for the prototype and the final object, the selection of the construction team partner, the preparation of the site, and the process management up to and including the construction team and the contracting agreement. In order to facilitate Being, Drees & Sommer is providing the project management during the realization of The Joan, including progress monitoring and quality assurance. In addition to Being’s quality criteria, the requirements set by or on behalf of the owner and its advisors will be met. The questions of future tenants will also be coordinated.
