Traunstein Hospital, the centerpiece of Kliniken Südostbayern AG, is being gradually modernized and functionally upgraded as part of a comprehensive restructuring. The goal is to consolidate medical and nursing areas, create new spaces for diagnostics and treatment, and ensure sustainable, future-proof healthcare. The project is being implemented in three consecutive construction phases while the hospital remains open.

The first two construction phases have been successfully completed. As part of Construction Phase 1, new spaces were created for physical and occupational therapy, a general care ward, the main entrance, the cafeteria, and general services. In the future, the new building complex will house, among other things, the neonatology unit, the perinatal center, pediatric and adolescent medicine, pediatric intensive care, adult intensive care, and psychosomatic medicine as part of Construction Phase 2.

Phase 3 of construction will include the creation of a central operating room, specialized diagnostics and intervention facilities, functional diagnostics, additional nursing areas, a delivery unit, and outpatient clinics. This phase will also be carried out while the hospital remains in operation.
