The new building for the University of Television and Film was constructed opposite the Alte Pinakothek Museum. The State Museum of Egyptian Art was integrated into the lowest levels of the building.

The seamless base section of the building that is some 150 metres long, 19 metres wide and 20 metres high takes the form of a monolith. It is distinguished by a special exposed concrete surface. The upper floors form a beam-like structure with a double-skin glass facade.
