Waldhotel Health & Medical Excellence Bürgenstock Resort

The Bürgenstock Resort overlooks Lake Lucerne in central Switzerland, on the Bürgenstock mountain. This traditional resort has hotels, spas, business center, and leisure facilities and has been attracting guests from all over the world since the 19th century. The Waldhotel Health & Wellbeing is part of this prestigious resort and is one of our Wall of Fame projects.  

The terraced building was designed by star architect Matheo Thun and blends naturally into the forest landscape. This effect is enhanced as the green roof gardens and façades create the effect of a green forest. The five-star hotel is aimed specifically at guests who want to focus on health and wellbeing.  

The building is located on the north side of the Bürgenberg, mostly directly on a rocky slope, and blends into to the natural terrain with the shape of a terraced house. It extends over ten stories and has suites that integrate into the terracing of the slope over a length of around 20 meters on the east side. 

The Waldhotel has 160 rooms, including 10 suites and an executive suite. In addition to the classic hotel rooms and suites, it has a restaurant with show kitchen, a bar, lobby area, conference area, spa with saunas, indoor pool, fitness room, and treatment rooms. There is also an entire medical floor where guests can book various beauty and dental aesthetic treatments.
