Artificial Intelligence in construction
As a leading player in innovation, Drees & Sommer is ideally positioned to drive this change. Every advance and every innovation is telling us that AI is not just some remote vision, but is already permeating our daily lives. It's changing the ways we live and work in the construction and real-estate industry, and at Drees & Sommer. This technological progress has prompted us to accelerate our previous aspirations in the fields of digitalization and AI, to ensure that we won't just be witnessing impending disruption, but actively contributing to shaping the future, in accordance with our "lead & transform" motto.
In the light of the rapid rate of developments in this field, we regularly vote on current changes and guidelines:
We analyze all AI developments, integrate AI into our existing strategies and expand them accordingly. We also use technology to create new digital solutions for our customers. Our company-wide AI strategy also gives us a way to involve and empower all our personnel. Because our strength is amplified by AI, we can look ahead to the results of our work becoming even faster and more efficient in the future.
"People tend to overestimate the effects of AI in a year's time, but underestimate what can be achieved in 10 years.“

Artificial Intelligence is taking Drees & Sommer to the next level
Driving innovation, enhancing efficiency and helping to improve quality
AI-supported applications are already revolutionizing the construction and real-estate industry. Technologies, for example, can contribute to sustainable and environmentally friendly planning and production, or to saving space and resources. In addition, AI can be used to improve quality assurance even further, by optimizing supply chains, with the benefit of identifying problematic materials and waste at an early stage.
We understand how to successfully integrate and develop software solutions, and launch them on the market. We have the expertise, the experience and the networks to be able to transform and apply innovative ideas in digital products. We have a vision and we know where we want to go.
How do we do it?
Our experts are working together with various departments and the core business on solutions and use cases, using Artificial Intelligence to increase the efficiency and quality of the various processes and workflows.
We rely on the highest security standards and a secure testing environment. So that we can test AI use cases and create prototypes, we have set up an AI lab, a digital workshop to be used for testing in a secure environment.
“Faster, more efficient, stronger: Our goal is to enhance and facilitate use of all tools to be able to offer our customers the best possible service externally and to empower our personnel internally!”
To achieve this, we rely on testing and early use of new tools and products, learning formats, and internal and external workshops and events.
Our most recent development is the Dreso.AI platform, on which several AI agents and assistants are implemented. This is enabling us to create a forward-looking solution that supports Drees & Sommer experts in their everyday work with many use cases. We are adding to the platform continuously with new use cases and functions to make standard processes more efficient.
At the same time, we're focusing on and working with startups as drivers of Artificial Intelligence in the construction industry. In the Innovation Scouting report, we have set our sights on AI startups in 2024.
As well as developing and integrating new AI tools, we're working on linking Web3, VR, AR and the metaverse. Ultimately, all technologies converge and, in combination, they provide a definite boost to innovation.
