SEMICON Europa 2025 is the leading event for the semiconductor and microelectronics industry in Europe. With 25,000 trade visitors, over 500 exhibitors, and around 200 speakers, the trade fair offers a unique platform for innovation, networking, and strategic partnerships.
The motto for 2025 was “Global Collaborations for European Economic Resilience.”
This year's motto underscored the growing need for technological sovereignty and global collaborations to strengthen Europe's economic resilience. The central question is: How can Europe future-proof its semiconductor industry?
Together with UNIT4, CRC Clean Room Consulting, and Industry Consulting Strobl, we were there for the third time and exchanged ideas with other thought leaders in the industry on the topics that are currently most pressing for the industry.
Top topics at SEMICON Europe 2025
- Smart factories: Automation and artificial intelligence (AI) are converging. Generative AI optimizes processes and designs, cobots work side by side with humans, and self-learning systems drive innovation—all with the goal of reducing CO₂ emissions.
- Resilient supply chains: Strategies for European semiconductor FABs to reduce dependencies and ensure competitiveness.
- Disruptive technologies: AI, cobots, additive manufacturing, and self-learning systems are redefining production. High-tech facilities must be planned, built, and commissioned more quickly to meet the growing demand for microelectronics.
Conclusion: The semiconductor industry is on the move. The task now is to promote the right partnerships and bring innovation to the factories.
