The Beethoven Bonn is now more modern, vibrant, and acoustically world-class. The historic concert hall celebrated its grand reopening on December 16, 2025, following an extensive restoration and modernization project carried out in accordance with heritage preservation requirements. Spanning more than 21,000 square meters, the renovation seamlessly integrates historic materials with contemporary functionality. The buildings' original 1959 design has been carefully preserved, while state-of-the-art technology and acoustical enhancements have transformed the venue into a leading international concert destination.

Combining Historic Preservation and World-Class Acoustics

On behalf of the City of Bonn, we served as a trusted project management partner, coordinating every phase from the project from planning through commissioning. A key priority was balancing heritage conservation requirements with the integration of state-of-the-art technology.

Our experts worked closely with heritage authorities and coordinated the interfaces between the building structure and services. This collaborative approach ensured that the result remained architecturally authentic while meeting the requirements of a modern concert venue. As part of the project, all building engineering systems, including event and stage technology, were completed renewed. Key technical infrastructure is now primarily housed beneath the dome roof and within a newly constructed underground facility. This strategy minimizes interventions in protected heritage areas while enabling the integration of state-of-the-art technology throughout the venue.

Through effective commissioning management, all technical systems including event and stage equipment were successfully commissioned on schedule and without disruption.
