2018 – 2021
97.000 m2
70 hectares in the East of France
Expansion of an automobile manufacturing plant with the construction of 97,000 m2 of new facilities as part of operational production units to create production tools for a new, larger-sized vehicle model.
As part of these works, Drees & Sommer has overseen:
- The demolition/reconstruction and extension of a building intended for logistics.
- The construction of three industrial buildings (body shop, paint shop, assembly), a guardhouse, and an automated conveyor between them.
- The extension of three industrial buildings and parking lots for passenger vehicles.
- The repurposing of a building.
- The relocation and almost doubling in size of the parking lot for heavy goods vehicles.
- The adaptation of the site’s infrastructure.
The product site in Hambach is one of our Wall of Fame projects. These are projects we are particularly proud of. They have not only helped our respective clients, but also us as a company.
Why Hambach deserves a place on our Wall of Fame:
- Largest Dreso project in France: The extensive expansion and remodeling measures in Hambach are the largest project supported by Drees & Sommer in France to date
- Lean construction management: We successfully established the lean concept on the construction site and introduced lean construction management. This made it possible to deliver production units at the times specified by the client
“Our largest project in France to date and one in which our team was able to demonstrate its enormous capability.”
Jette de Beauregard, Managing Director, Drees & Sommer France
Added value
Control of quality, costs, and deadlines, notably through the implementation of lean construction management, which allowed the production units to be delivered on the date set by the client.
