A development comprising a shopping center, a residential complex with an artificial lake, and a mixed-use zone with a gross floor area of some 50,000 square meters has been built in three phases on the former site of the German-American Folk Festival in Berlin-Zehlendorf. Drees & Sommer provided extensive services for the development of the shopping center (SO) and residential complex(WA).

Some 130 housing units were built in four phases with two construction sites each. The different building types (apartment buildings, townhouses and single-family homes) are built over a common underground car park and arranged around an artificial lake. The high-quality housing project with DGNB Silver certification features varied architecture, sophisticated designs, and a range of floor plans.

There is also a shopping and health center in a prime location, also with a shared underground car park beneath. The building complex is accessible via a central piazza and has more than 30 tenants, including a supermarket, fitness center, doctor’s offices, a pharmacy, and an organic supermarket.
