Energy Supply (electricity, gas, district heating)
Strategy consulting on wind energy for the municipality of Rust
Drees & Sommer supported a city in Baden-Württemberg in taking its first steps toward supplying renewable wind power
Energy of tomorrow: The consulting project in the municipality of Rust served to build up knowledge about the planning and design of wind turbines. The aim was to give the municipality a comprehensive overview of the life cycle of a wind energy project. It was also about explaining key aspects of project development in a practical way, without the municipality itself wanting to act as a project developer.
The municipality wants to involve the population
As part of the project, the Drees & Sommer expert team also identified specific next steps that the municipality can take to actively help steer a potential wind energy project and involve the local population constructively from an early stage.
A major advantage of the project was that the work status, decision-making basis, and next steps were clearly and openly communicated from the outset, forming an essential foundation for effective and trusting cooperation.
