For decades, consulting company Drees & Sommer SE has combined seemingly opposing forces in the construction and real estate industry through its interdisciplinary expertise: economy and ecology, functionality and design, efficiency and well-being, as well as the analog and digital worlds. As a sustainability pioneer, the company’s mission is to develop solutions that transform burdens into benefits for everyone.
Drees & Sommer vividly presents its vision of a sustainable future through the film“Invisible to Nature.” The film portrays a future in which construction and nature are no longer opposites. It is a future where spaces, buildings, and infrastructure are planned and realized in ways that not only fulfill their purpose but also make a positive contribution to people and the environment. In metaphorical terms, the goal is to create structures that blend naturally into their surroundings.
“For us, sustainability is not a trend, but a deeply held conviction. That is why we deliberately decided to make a statement in favor of sustainability with our new ‘Invisible’ film—especially at a time when economic pressures are too often pushing sustainability out of focus. The film is a visual journey through all of our markets—Real Estate, Infrastructure, and Industry—and demonstrates the possibilities we are creating,” says Ulrike Schweizer, Head of Sustainability Communications at Drees & Sommer SE.
The Vision: A Climate-Neutral Future
The innovative campaign, developed in collaboration with communications agency RYSM, with participation from E+P Films and director Florian Meimberg, sets new benchmarks. As Drees & Sommer’s first video produced entirely with artificial intelligence, all scenes, characters, and even the music were created using AI.
“Advertising usually puts the product on display,” says Sebastian Stelzer, Managing Director Creation at RYSM. “We’ve done the opposite: by not showing the buildings, we make it clear what they enable—a climate-neutral future.” “The fact that this film is entirely AI-generated is not a gimmick—it is an important part of the idea. True progress in the building sector does not mean bigger, faster, or more. It means greater intelligence working in the background. Systems that create impact without dominating,” adds Tim Hartwig, Managing Director Creation at RYSM.
“This film was conceived by people but generated by AI. It therefore also serves as proof of our identity as a driver of digitalization—both in communication and in our client projects,” says Sandra Brand, CMO of Drees & Sommer SE, who initiated the project.
At its core, the film is a powerful statement by Drees & Sommer in support of a sustainable and future-ready construction industry. Not everything that creates impact is immediately visible. Often, change begins with a simple decision: What can I do today to make things better? Every conscious decision can make a difference. A livable future is shaped by countless actions—even when their results only become visible tomorrow.
The film launch marks only the beginning. Through a long-term campaign, Drees & Sommer will continue to create new opportunities to showcase its sustainability expertise—from digital formats and events to best-practice examples developed together with clients as lighthouse projects for sustainable development.
