Stuttgart, Germany, January 13, 2022. Peter Mösle, Doctor of Engineering (Dr.-Ing.) and Partner at Drees & Sommer SE, has been appointed Honorary Member of the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB). The association recognizes his strong commitment to sustainable buildings and his perseverance in promoting circular economy.

The German Sustainable Building Council was formed in Stuttgart in 2007 with the aim of promoting sustainability in the construction and real estate industry. The non-profit association has become established as the largest network for sustainable construction in Europe. It has around 1,500 member organizations that contribute their knowledge as stakeholders such as architects, planners, investors and scientists.

As a founding member of the Council, Dr. Peter Mösle has been involved right from the start. He was also a member of the Board of Directors for twelve years and, as chairperson of the DGNB Technical Committee, was jointly responsible for the system development of buildings and urban districts for many years. ‘For well over ten years, Peter Mösle has been committed to promoting sustainable construction in general and DGNB certification systems in particular, and establishing them in the market as standard. We are recognizing his exemplary commitment by appointing him an honorary member,’ said Dr. Christine Lemaitre, Chief Executive Officer of the German Sustainable Building Council since 2010.

Dr. Peter Mösle studied mechanical engineering. He has been a Partner at Drees & Sommer SE since 2012, with responsibility for green building, energy management and sustainable urban development. As Managing Director of EPEA GmbH – Part of Drees & Sommer he promotes the Cradle to Cradle design principle, also beyond the construction sector. ‘In Germany and internationally, the German Sustainable Building Council’s certificate stands for buildings proven to be sustainable. It is a highly acknowledged seal of quality for sustainable construction. Building and renovating in an environmentally friendly way is not only essential for our climate. In fact, sustainable approaches such as the DGNB system and Cradle to Cradle are a real opportunity for companies to innovate – and with economic success’, Dr. Peter Mösle empathizes.
