Infrastructure Provision
Bridge structures City of Nuremberg
Ensuring the long-term security of critical infrastructure is essential for sustainable urban development
Infrastructure is the backbone of our economy and society, but we can only strengthen it if we have a full understanding of its current state. So, what steps can we take?
In 2011, the City of Nuremberg’s Public Space Service (SÖR) launched a comprehensive initiative to maintain and monitor over 300 bridge structures. Between 2011 and 2024, experts from Drees & Sommer analysed the data using a specialised tool, documenting structural changes and visualising developments through condition ratings.
These precise assessments form the basis for future planning.
The outcome is a detailed maintenance forecast that quantifies the renovation backlog. A transparent report will present these findings, enabling reliable planning for future measures.
