Office Buildings
Copernicus – Pulse, Antwerp
Circular redevelopment of 23,000 m² in Antwerp, supported by Drees & Sommer’s sustainability and certification expertise.
Located near Antwerp Central Station, Copernicus – Pulse is creating a modern and sustainable workplace through a comprehensive deconstruction and reconstruction project.
A Comprehensive Strategy for Circular Redevelopment
The project includes the demolition and reconstruction of approximately 23,000 m² of office and residential space, creating a modern workplace that meets high sustainability standards. Due to the dense urban location and limited construction space, careful planning is required for demolition works and material recycling.
A strong focus is placed on energy efficiency, optimized façade performance, and responsible water management. The project is designed to meet Nearly Zero Energy Building (NZEB) requirements in line with regional PEB and European EPBD standards.
Circularity also plays a central role in the reuse of materials and building components. Through material inventoriesprepared in accordance with the Green Building Certifications requirements, existing resources are identified and reintegrated wherever possible. In addition, environmental performance is evaluated across the entire building lifecycle through CRREM, LCA, and EU Taxonomy analyses.
The redevelopment is designed to meet the requirements of BREEAM Excellent, DGNB Gold, WELL Gold, and EDGE Gold certifications, highlighting its sustainability and circularity strategy.
