Reutlingen West sewage treatment plant - new construction of 4th treatment stage
Realize wastewater disposal system in a targeted and efficient manner
The city of Reutlingen is expanding the West sewage treatment plant by adding a fourth purification stage specifically designed to remove trace substances. This initiative is driven by the sensitive ecological conditions of the drainage channel Echaz, which serves as the receiving watercourse.
A key component of the project is the planned heat recovery from the treated wastewater, which will be fed into the city’s district heating network. The project is being carried out in collaboration with FairNetz and FairEnergie.
As part of the development, a new secondary clarifier will also be constructed. This will be planned in conjunction with the fourth purification stage and includes the extension of the pipe channel.
Drees & Sommer is overseeing the project, ensuring a structured approach, a clear roadmap, and transparent cost management for targeted and efficient implementation.
