Demand for charging infrastructure at underground garages, outside buildings, and at neighborhood hubs is growing rapidly. With the new "Charging in Multi-Family Housing" funding package, the federal government is now providing up to €500 million to sustainably electrify parking spaces in rental and homeowners' association (WEG) properties.
This gives rental properties and WEG portfolios the opportunity to significantly reduce investment costs and align their buildings with the future of electric mobility. At the same time, landlords and owners in particular face the challenge of planning and implementing charging infrastructure so that it is scalable and compliant with funding requirements – while avoiding future retrofits, additional costs, or poor investment decisions.
