The Dubai World Expo was launched in October 2021 and will continue until March 2022. As part of a multisectoral delegation consisting of 36 representatives from companies mainly related to the construction, consulting, and water treatment sectors, organized by the Chamber of Commerce of Luxembourg, the Ministry of Economy, Luxinnovation, and the Luxembourg Trade and Invest Office in Abu Dhabi.

The mission program began with a thematic tour of Expo 2020 with a "sustainability walk" through various national pavilions at the Dubai Expo 2020, including Luxembourg, Peru, New Zealand, Sweden, Germany, Spain, and Austria. The tour ended with a visit to the Sustainability Pavilion, coordinated by the host country, the United Arab Emirates.

On the last day of the mission, the Chamber of Commerce organized a seminar on the circular economy, with a particular focus on Luxembourg's transition to a circular economy. In 2021, 10 guiding and unifying sustainability principles - the Sustainable Business Principles - were published by the Chamber of Commerce of Luxembourg. Based on the voices and beliefs of businesses, they were established by and for the Luxembourg business community. In this context, Maximilien Ast, Partner Associate of Drees & Sommer Luxembourg, provided an overview of current and future trends in sustainable construction and presented some of the company's most recent projects in Luxembourg and abroad, all focused on circular models.
