In recent years, the Austrian Parliament in Vienna has been reconstructed. We at Drees & Sommer Austria were also involved with Lean Construction Management.

The LEAN team around Armen Hanusic was allowed to take over the Lean Construction Management in a joint venture with DELTA - a comprehensive service provider for construction in Sector 5. Together, an overall process analysis and process planning were developed.

The rehabilitation of the Parliament was divided into 9 sectors, involving around 7 restorers and around 80 companies in the execution phase.

A “lean room” could be set up at the site, where a day-to-day layout was implemented, making the complex project management more transparent for all parties involved. This also ensured a continuous and personal exchange with site personnel and construction supervisors.
