At the site of the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU), a building was built which accommodates seminar and learning rooms as well as a library on a usable area of 3,100 square meters for the students.

The special thing about it: it is a constructive timber construction.

On 12.10.2020 the ceremonial handover of the keys to the 'Ilse Wallentin-Haus' took place in the presence of high-ranking representatives from politics and business. Due to the corona regulations, the opening was broadcast via Livestream.

Functions: Seminar rooms, study rooms and premises for the Institute of Transportation at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna. Ideally suited lounges, meeting points and market place for students.

At the site of the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU), another building is being constructed to cover the demand for office and teaching space. This building is a timber construction.

The building has a usable area of approx. 3.000m². In addition to the seminar centre with around 1,100 m² floor space, the library with around 600 m² floor space; institute rooms with around 500 m² also poll and user rooms with around 600 m² will be built.

Overcome challenges: Short construction time due to tight schedule, tight cost constraints, reinforced concrete core and timber construction with a sustainable appearance, high energy efficiency, in addition to ongoing university operations. Slope protection measures by means of shotcrete - nail wall are currently being implemented. During the implementation, it must be taken into account that in the surrounding buildings of BOKU (Wilhelm-Exner-Haus, Franz Schwackhöfer Haus, Center for International Relocation) an undisturbed university operation is to be maintained.
An integrally created Building Information Model (BIM) is used for the planning.
